Tool Tutorials at the Annual Conference

October 25th, 2010 | by Naomi de Moraes | No Comments

For the second year, ATA has offered tool vendors the chance to provide FREE tool tutorials at the ATA conference. This is your chance to get up to speed on a tool you have already purchased, or get an in-depth look at the workflow for the tools you are interested in purchasing — or maybe even convince you to buy one if you have been undecided.
Click here to go to the ATA conference site page with the tool tutorial schedule. This year they will be held in a separate area inside the exhibit hall, rather than in the same rooms used for talks.

Tools Forum at the ATA Conference

October 25th, 2010 | by Naomi de Moraes | No Comments

For those attending the conference in Denver, the annual tools forum will be held on Friday the 29th at 10 am. (Check under Language Technology talks in the program for the exact room.)

For those who have never attended, each tool vendor sends a representative to the event to tell us what is new and great in their software stable.

They also fill out a questionnaire, which is available here on our site. This allows potential customers to compare tools with the same measuring stick before deciding which to try for more in-depth testing.

I hope to see you there!

From the Admin Desk: We made it

October 21st, 2010 | by mm | No Comments

Hello Everybody,

If you skip ATA HQ announcements I can but not repeat the message: Our
second Newsletter of the year just hit the newsstand. As always ready
for pickup here. Thanks to the
publication team for yet another interesting collection of articles
around Language Technology.

The tool’s tutorial organized by Naomi de Moraes comes this year with
a great document providing info supplied by the vendors. Check it out
on our website by clicking here.

Our General Meeting program is set. We will have a round of peers
telling you about their reason for selecting a particular tool. I am
not going to give away more today and urge you to show up at the Open
House on Wednesday night to learn more about the Annual Meeting or
simply plan to attend the meeting on Saturday morning.

We want to make use of our General Meeting time on Saturday to give something to the membership they can really make use of and has got honest and sincere quality. YOUR OPINION. Ten precious minutes of your collected wisdom and experience on the use of one Translation Memory tool. That is all we want and ask for.
