Common Sense

August 21st, 2006 | by MiW

It’s an interconnected world. No sooner had we added a link to MultiLingual Computing in our link list on the left when I found, on their website, an interview with Donald A. DePalma and Renato Beninatto. The two of them are behind Common Sense Advisory, “a research and consulting firm committed to improving the quality of international business and the efficiency of the online and offline operations that support it.”

My favorite quote from the interview comes from Renato:

I lived in seven countries before I got my first job, and, if I wanted to have girlfriends, I needed to get along in the local languages. This was my first practical exposure to localization.

It’s well worth putting the Common Sense Advisory on your reading list.

If you still have room on your link list, check out About Translation by Riccardo Schiaffino. His feed link is here.
